After Kohli-Rohit, Ravindra Jadeja also retires, will not play T20 International for Team India

After the final star Virat Kohli announced his retirement from T20 International, captain Rohit Sharma also said goodbye to this format. Now Team India's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also announced to leave the blue jersey in this format forever. Jadeja announced his retirement on Sunday 30 June, a day after Team India's victory.

Will continue to play other formats

Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from this format with an emotional post on Instagram a few hours after Team India's victory, but assured to continue showing his strong game for Team India in ODIs and Tests. Jadeja wrote in his post that winning the World Cup was the biggest milestone in his T20 career. Jadeja said that he is retiring from T20 International with happiness in his heart. He said that he has always contributed with all his might for the country and will continue to do so in other formats.

Ravindra Jadeja played all 8 matches for Team India in this World Cup. However, this tournament did not prove to be special for him and neither could he show any magic with the bat nor could he make an impact in bowling. He got a chance to bowl in 7 innings of the tournament but he could take only 1 wicket. At the same time, only 35 runs came from his bat in 5 innings. His brilliance continued in fielding, where he stopped many runs.

How was Jadeja's T20 International career?

Jadeja made his debut in this format for Team India on the Sri Lanka tour in February 2009. Since then, he has been a part of Team India in almost every T20 World Cup. He could not participate in the last T20 World Cup played in Australia due to injury. In his career, Jadeja played 74 matches for Team India, scoring 515 runs at an average of 21 and taking 54 wickets at an average of 29.85.
