Ashwin pointed out the big mistake of batsmen in the Duleep Trophy, called DRS a game-changer

Four teams are competing against each other in the Duleep Trophy. India A is clashing with India B in Bengaluru. Whereas, a match is being played between India C and India D in Anantapur. Meanwhile, Team India's veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has pointed out a big shortcoming of the batsmen playing domestic cricket. Giving the example of India D batsman Ricky Bhui, he has said that now keeping the bat behind the pad on the front foot can prove fatal. Calling DRS a game changer, Ashwin said that due to this, this big shortcoming has come to the fore.

On the second day of the Duleep Trophy, Ricky Bhui was LBW off Manav Suthar's ball. Giving an example of this, Ashwin called DRS a game changer. On this ball, Bhui was defending on the front foot by keeping his bat behind the pad. The bowler appealed for out but the on-field umpire refused. After this, he asked for a review, in which the TV umpire overturned the decision and declared him out. Ashwin posted a picture of this incident on social media and said that the batsman's technique was not right. Since the introduction of DRS, with this technique, a batsman can get out 10 times out of 10.

Ashwin revealed that before DRS, batsmen used to play on the front foot in domestic matches and avoid getting out. He believes that this method was fine before DRS but now it is a big mistake. Ashwin said that DRS is important in domestic cricket and batsmen can now improve this shortcoming of theirs at the domestic level itself.

Ashwin believes that with this technique, the career of an international-level batsman can be in danger. Because by the time he understands his shortcomings and thinks of improving, he would have already been out of the team. Let us tell you that despite the introduction of DRS in international cricket, it was not implemented in India's domestic cricket. BCCI implemented it in the 2019-20 Ranji season, for which Ashwin thanked the board.
