The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is soon going to reach its semi-finals and the chances of the Pakistani cricket team making it to the top 4 seem slim. However, there are still some scenarios where Pakistan can make it to the semi-finals of the World Cup 2023.

Having suffered four consecutive defeats followed by crucial wins against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka, Pakistan is currently in a tough spot to make it to the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023. The dream of semi-finals seems bleak for Pakistan, but their chances of reaching the top 4 are still less.

Even after winning against Bangladesh at the Eden Garden Stadium in Kolkata, it is very difficult for Pakistan to qualify for the semi-finals. Wins in the next four matches will take Pakistan's total to 10 points, which is still not enough to take them into the top four of the cricket tournament.

Pakistan's fate for the World Cup 2023 semi-finals depends on the performance of other teams in the subsequent matches in the cricket tournament.

How can Pakistan still qualify for the World Cup 2023 semi-finals?

Pakistan can still qualify if they win their next three matches, taking them to 10 points, and Australia drop to fifth after losing their next three matches against Afghanistan, England, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The next three matches will be against India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, out of which they will have to lose two matches.

This will leave Australia with 8 points and Sri Lanka with only 6 points. If New Zealand does not perform well and loses the next two matches, its 10 points will remain. Meanwhile, India has confirmed their place in the semi-finals, but the chances of an India vs Pakistan match in the remaining matches of the World Cup are slim.
