Feels bad, this shouldn't have happened...Prithvi Shaw got emotional, the video surfaced after not being sold in the IPL 2025 Auction.

Shubman Gill, Arshdeep Singh, Abhishek Sharma, and Riyan Parag have two things in common. First, all four of them were part of the Indian team that won the Under-19 World Cup 2018. Second, all four of them have become key players of different teams in the IPL and have also cemented their place in the Indian team or are seen doing so. Then comes Prithvi Shaw, who was the captain of that World Cup-winning team and was considered the greatest player. He was the first to get entry into Team India and created a stir in the IPL as well. Now, after about 7 years, he is neither in the IPL nor in Team India. Now he has become a means of trolling for cricket fans and this thing has started troubling him too.

No buyer was found in the IPL 2025 auction.

182 players were bought in the two-day IL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, many of which were completely new players. All the 10 franchises together spent a total of Rs 639.15 crore to buy these players. But not a single franchise among these bid for Prithvi Shaw. This is the first time in his short career that Prithvi Shaw will not be a part of the IPL.

Expressed heartache on trolling

Just after the IPL auction ended, a video of 25-year-old Prithvi Shaw started going viral on social media, in which he was seen sharing his grief by getting emotional about trolling. However, this video is older than the IPL auction. Shaw said that although he laughs after seeing good or bad memes, sometimes he feels bad and sad too. He said that he sees every trolling about himself on social media and many times he feels that this should not have happened because he said the wrong thing.

Shaw often stays in the limelight and is seen in different parties, which also becomes the reason for his trolling. He also expressed surprise that if he is celebrating his birthday, people troll him even for roaming around instead of practicing batting. Shaw said that he can take out one day for himself and enjoy with family and friends. The young opener said that he does not blame anyone for this because the people who say this have not seen him closely.
