I would like to become a 'servant' of the Pakistani team, not a 'king', Rizwan targeted Babar Azam as soon as he became the captain!

Mohammad Rizwan has been made the new white ball captain of Pakistan. As soon as he became the captain, Rizwan held his first press conference with PCB President Mohsin Naqvi. In this press conference, he talked about his captaincy, the goals related to it, and the internal conflicts of the Pakistan team. Rizwan said that as a captain, he would like to be a servant rather than a king. Fans in Pakistan cricket fondly call Babar Azam the king. Rizwan has also got the captaincy in place of King Babar Azam. In such a situation, as soon as he became the captain, his statement was seen as a direct target on Babar Azam.

I would like to be a 'servant' of the Pakistan team, not a 'king' - Rizwan.

Rizwan said that a leader or captain is one who treats the 15 players of the team like servants instead of thinking like a king. According to him, all the players of the team will be captains on the field. He said that if I start thinking of myself as a king as a captain, then nothing good will happen. Therefore, it is important for the captain to be the servant of the 15 players.

When asked about the internal atmosphere of the Pakistani team, Rizwan said that the entire team is a group and he is also a part of that group. According to him, all 15 players are the captains of the Pakistani team.

Apart from Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi and new white ball captain Mohammad Rizwan, members of the selection committee were also present in the press conference held in Lahore. Mohsin Naqvi said that Salman Ali Agha will be Mohammad Rizwan's deputy i.e. vice-captain in white ball cricket.
