KL Rahul earned crores but could not earn trust, such a big insult!

What is the use of earning crores of rupees when KL Rahul could not win the trust of the team owner? You must be wondering why we are talking about this. So there is a reason behind this, which is related to the retention before IPL 2025. There is news that KL Rahul went to Kolkata and talked to Lucknow Super Giants team owner Sanjiv Goenka at his head office. The news of this meeting had already come. But, the things related to the talks that happened in it and the conclusion that seems to be coming out, are now coming out. From those talks, it has come out that KL Rahul earned crores but it seems that he could not earn trust.

You would be curious to know what happened in the meeting between KL Rahul and Sanjiv Goenka. A member of the IPL Governing Council told PTI on the condition of maintaining anonymity that this meeting took place at the RPG head office in Kolkata, in which Rahul asked Mr. Goenka to retain him for the upcoming season. But, it does not seem that LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka is interested in this.

A source associated with IPL further said that LSG knows how much money it has in its purse and how many players it has to retain. However, it has no intention of making any commitment regarding the retention of any player. However, no one from LSG management has said anything on this issue yet.

KL Rahul has been with Lucknow Super Giants for the last three seasons. During this time, he has been the captain of all of them. He has received Rs 17 crore from the franchise for each season. But, the owner of the franchise from which KL Rahul earned 51 crores after playing 3 seasons does not seem to trust him anymore. Because if that were the case, he would have got assurance on the retention he had sought when he had gone to their head office.

However, the reason behind this is believed to be the dispute between Rahul and Goenka during IPL 2024. After the 10-wicket defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024, Sanjiv Goenka was badly angry with KL Rahul. The matter was so big that his attitude towards KL Rahul was also criticized heavily. After that incident, Sanjiv Goenka also organized a special dinner for KL Rahul. But, it does not seem that that dinner is going to affect the retention of IPL 2025.
