Kane Williamson had returned from injury. He was away from cricket for 2 months. But he did not let any of this happen in his innings in the Christchurch Test against England. Rather, he maintained his excellent Test record at home this year against England as well. He was playing exactly the same way as he was seen playing in the home Test series against South Africa before the injury. Williamson, who scored 3 centuries in the home Test series against South Africa, came close to scoring a century against England as well. But, he missed out on achieving it.
Williamson missed his 33rd Test century.
Kane Williamson's wicket was taken by England bowler Atkinson when he was playing on 93 runs. That is, he was just 7 runs away from his 33rd Test century. There was definitely a regret of missing the century but despite that Williamson was seen winning the hearts of cricket fans. In fact, the fans were happy to see that despite staying away from cricket due to injury, Williamson's batting has not been affected.
On one hand, there was regret over Kane Williamson missing out on his 33rd Test century after getting out on 93, but on the other hand, fans were happy that he managed to play a strong innings after returning from injury.
Kane Williamson was injured in the Test series played on the Sri Lanka tour, after which he could not play in the Test series against India in October. Now after fully recovering, he made a comeback against England and demonstrated his ability in the very first innings of the series.
