Pakistan may give up hosting the Champions Trophy! A blatant intimidation move against India

IND vs PAK, Champions Trophy Controversy: The Champions Trophy is to be hosted by Pakistan in February next year. But the Board of Control for Cricket in India has made it clear that it will not send its team to Pakistan to play the tournament. After this decision, the Pakistan Cricket Board is now completely upset.

Karachi: Big news is coming out regarding the Champions Trophy. If media reports are to be believed, Pakistan may give up hosting this prestigious tournament to be held next year. It is also threatening to withdraw from the tournament. According to the Pakistani newspaper 'Dawn', the entire atmosphere has changed after India refused to come to their country and play in the tournament.

The report quoted 'official sources' as saying that the Pakistan government is likely to ask the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to stop playing India in any ICC or Asian Cricket Council (AIC) event until the issues between the two countries are resolved.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board had sought clarification from the ICC regarding hosting the Champions Trophy as it was only told that the Indian team would not come for the tournament, but was ready for a hybrid model. The PCB was told by the ICC that the BCCI would not send its team to Pakistan for the tournament to be held in february next year. The BCCI informed the International Cricket Council about this.

A hybrid model was followed during the Asia Cup last year when India's matches were held in Sri Lanka while the other matches were played in Pakistan. The Indian team has not toured Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. The two teams play each other only in ICC tournaments. Now it remains to be seen which way the tables turn before this big tournament.
