Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid: Rohit Sharma, one of the greatest captains in the world, has said goodbye to the T20 format. Now the trophy is also stamped on his chest. A similar situation is with head coach Rahul Dravid, on whom the trophy's name may have been late but it felt right. This pair finally soothed their hearts in the T20 World Cup 2024 and took a memorable farewell. We have seen Rohit Sharma emotional for Rahul Dravid during the press conference earlier as well. Now once again Rohit could not hold himself back and has posted an emotional post for Dravid.

What did Rohit Sharma write?

Rohit Sharma shared a photo of Rahul Dravid holding the trophy with him on Instagram. In this post, he wrote, 'I am trying to find the right words to properly express my feelings on this, but I am not sure I will ever be able to do so. So here is my attempt. Since childhood, I have respected you just like billions of other people, but I was fortunate to work so closely with you. You are an absolute legend of this game, but you left all your accolades and achievements at the door and came to us as a coach. Came to a level where we all felt comfortable saying anything to you.'

This is a gift for you – Rohit Sharma.

Rohit further wrote, 'This is your gift, your humility and your love for this game even after so much time. I have learned a lot from you and will cherish every memory. My wife calls you my work wife and I am lucky to call you so. This was the only thing you lacked and I am so happy that we were able to achieve it together. Rahul bhai, it is an absolute privilege for me to call you my confidant, my coach, and my friend.'

Hitman got emotional in the press conference.

The news of Rahul Dravid's tenure had intensified even before the T20 World Cup 2024. Hitman looked emotional at Dravid's farewell amid the mega event. It was becoming very difficult for him to speak. Rohit Sharma had said at that time that he was his first captain and he learned a lot from Dravid. It will not be easy for me to see him go.
