South Africa surrendered in 35 balls, and the one who scored 32 runs in one over became the hero of the second T20I, West Indies took a hat-trick

 

A T20 match is of 120 balls. But, in the second T20 International against West Indies, only 35 balls were enough to stun South Africa. South Africa surrendered in these 35 balls. In these 35 balls, they lost not one, two, or three but all 7 wickets. Now if in a game of 120 balls, 7 wickets fall in just 35 balls, then how can that team win? The result was that West Indies defeated South Africa in the second T20I match of the 3-match series played on 25 August.

West Indies won the second T20I match against South Africa by 30 runs. With this, it also captured the 3 T20 match series and also scored a hat-trick against South Africa. This is West Indies' third consecutive T20 series win against South Africa. West Indies defeated South Africa by 7 wickets in the first T20I of the current series. The hero of West Indies' victory against South Africa in the second T20I was the player who scored 32 runs in an over.

In the second T20I match, West Indies batted first and scored 179 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Shai Hope scored the most runs from the West Indies. He scored a quick 41 runs with the help of 4 sixes in 22 balls. Apart from him, captain Rovman Powell scored 35 runs in 22 balls with 3 sixes. Apart from these, Sharfan Rutherford played an innings of 29 runs in 18 balls with 2 sixes. All-rounder Romario Shepherd remained unbeaten after scoring 9 runs in 6 balls, but his real game was yet to come. And, this was seen when South Africa came out to chase the runs.

Chasing a target of 180 runs, everything seemed to be going well for South Africa as long as its top-order batsmen performed well. That means they were all out in just 19.4 overs. Out of these 6 wickets, 3 wickets were taken by Joseph and Shepherd together.

Shamar Joseph took 3 wickets for 31 runs in 4 overs. While Romario Shepherd was even more economical than him. He gave only 15 runs in 4 overs and took 3 wickets. He was chosen as the Player of the Match for this brilliant performance with the ball.

Romario Shepherd came into the limelight during IPL 2024 when he conceded 32 runs in a single over. Playing for Mumbai Indians, he did this feat against Delhi Capitals bowler Enrique Norkhia. He scored 32 runs with the help of 4 sixes and 2 fours in the last over of the match against him, which was also the most expensive over of IPL 2024.
