When Shubhman Gill made this mistake in captaincy, the umpire reprimanded him!

Most of the players of the Indian cricket team playing in the Duleep Trophy 2024 have faced failure. The same happened on the second day of the India-A vs India-B match in Bengaluru, where star batsman Shubman Gill failed to make any impact. Shubman Gill, who was captaining India-A, did not bat for long and he was dismissed after scoring just 25 runs. Before batting, Shubman also faced a strange situation during his captaincy, when he made a big mistake in fielding and then the umpire had to ask him to correct this mistake.

On the second day of this match being played in Bengaluru, India's young batsman Musheer Khan and his partner Navdeep Saini once again troubled the bowlers of India-A. The partnership of these two started after losing 7 wickets for just 94 runs on the first day and during this, Musheer scored a century. On the second day, they took their century partnership further and made India-A yearn for wickets. Musheer completed 150 runs, while Navdeep scored a half-century. Eventually, this partnership broke after adding 205 runs. Musheer scored 181 runs and Navdeep scored 56 runs, while India-B's innings ended at a strong score of 321 runs.

This partnership of both of them had troubled India-A captain Shubman Gill a lot because all his moves were proving to be useless. Perhaps due to this, he made a big mistake in the meantime, which the umpire had to correct. When Mushir was playing at 147 runs, 12 players of India-A including Shubman Gill were present on the field for fielding. Gill also probably did not know about this and this situation continued for 2-3 balls. Finally, the umpire noticed this and he asked Gill to send a fielder out, which surprised Gill as well.

After the success in ending India-B's innings after hard work and a long wait, everyone's eyes were on Shubman Gill's batting. Shubman Gill, who has been playing at number three in Test cricket for Team India for the last year, came out to open here. Experienced opener Mayank Agarwal was also with him and both of them gave a strong start by making a half-century partnership. Here, when Shubman Gill was looking in good rhythm, he was deceived by a good ball. Gill failed to read the ball of pacer Navdeep Saini which was coming in after falling outside the off stump.

Seeing the line of the ball outside the off stump, Shubman Gill thought of leaving it instead of defending or playing a shot but this is where he made a mistake. The ball pitched and came in and blew away his off-stump. Gill could not believe his mistake and had to return to the pavilion after scoring just 25 runs. This was not the first time Gill was out in this way. Earlier in the World Test Championship final last year against Australia, he was bowled similarly by Scott Boland. In such a situation, this puts his technique under question, which will be a big challenge for coach Gautam Gambhir to correct.
