What did Virat Kohli do during the Australia tour?
Team India may have lost the Australia tour in 2014-15 but that series was very special for Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli became the Test captain in the same series. Dhoni suddenly left the captaincy and the responsibility came on Virat's shoulders and in the same series, this batsman's bat was full of runs. Virat scored 692 runs in that series at an average of more than 86. He scored a total of 4 centuries and a half-century. Gautam Gambhir said that he feels that the kind of batting Virat Kohli did on that tour, this batsman has not been able to do till now. That zone of Virat Kohli was different. Gautam Gambhir said that he himself was in the same zone in the Napier Test held in 2009, in which he batted for 436 balls and during this time 137 runs came from his bat. Laxman scored an unbeaten 124 runs in that match. Gambhir said that he was chanting Hanuman Chalisa during that match.
Gautam Gambhir also praised Virat's captaincy during a conversation on BCCI TV. He told Virat that he became a good captain because he prepared a good bowling unit. Especially the way he created a pace bowling attack which includes names like Bumrah, Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammad Siraj. Virat Kohli is India's most successful Test captain and has won a total of 40 Test matches.
