Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will miss the upcoming World Cup matches against England on October 29 and Sri Lanka on November 2 due to an ankle injury. The injury occurred during India's game against Bangladesh on October 19.

Pandya is currently undergoing treatment for a left ankle sprain at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Sources reveal that he has not yet resumed bowling in the nets, as he aims to make a comeback during the crucial stages of the World Cup.

Hardik Pandya suffered an injury to his left ankle while attempting to stop a shot during his bowling. Unfortunately, he could bowl only three balls against Bangladesh in Pune, after which he required assistance to leave the field. Sadly, the all-rounder was unable to continue participating in the match.

Hardik did not travel to Dharamsala with the rest of the Indian team for their game against New Zealand on October 22. Instead, he reached the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru on Monday to undergo treatment and be closely monitored by the medical team.

It is noteworthy that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had said in a statement earlier this week that Hardik would join the team in Lucknow before the match against England. However, it appears that this plan has changed.

The news agency said, "Pandya has suffered a serious sprain, but fortunately no fracture. The BCCI medical team wants to take maximum precautions. He is likely to miss the next two to three matches. The team wants him to be treated for a knock- Be fully fit for the out stage." PTI has given this information by quoting a source.

India currently tops the World Cup 2023 points table with an impressive record of five wins from five matches. His exceptional performance has made him a strong contender for the semi-finals.
