HMD Global has recently launched its new feature phone, named HMD 105. The price of HMD 105 feature phone is ₹ 999. This smartphone comes with built-in UPI, a 1,000 mAh battery that gives up to 18 days of standby time, IP52 water-resistant design, an MP3 player, FM radio, call recording, multilingual support, and more. Let's know what is special in HMD 105...

HMD 105 Review: Design & Display

The HMD 105 has a classic design and good build quality. It is very lightweight, weighing just 77.5 grams. It has a 2-inch QQVGA screen with a keypad and HMD branding in the middle. The back is made of polycarbonate material with nano textures, and the phone supports an IP52 water-resistant rating. The buttons are very large and clear, making typing easy. There is a torch on the top, while the bottom has a 3.5mm jack for connecting wired earphones, a micro USB port, and a lanyard hole. The textured back gives you a grip, and you can also remove it to insert the battery, SIM, and microSD card.

HMD 105 Review: Performance

The HMD 105 has a customizable interface with a few in-built apps like a music player, FM radio (wired and wireless), calculator, calendar, clock, alarm, voice recorder, snake game, GS Pay and files manager. It has 4 MB of RAM and 4 MB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card, and its performance is decent for a feature phone.

You can quickly dial numbers with the Quick Dialer, send messages, and access apps using shortcut buttons. You can save up to 2,000 contacts on the phone. In our experience, some keys did not react even to a slight touch. This could be due to the keypad or a manufacturing defect,

HMD 105 Review: Features

The best thing about this phone is its loud volume, the audio output is very high and the call quality is very loud and clear, so you can easily talk even in noisy places. The overall call and audio experience on this phone is very good. Another feature is UPI transactions on the phone through the GS Pay app. Users can make payments through mobile number or UPI ID. To make a payment, the user has to enter the payee's mobile number or UPI ID, the amount to send and the UPI PIN. After confirmation, the payment will be successfully completed and the user will get a notification.

HMD 105 Review: Battery

The HMD 105 packs a 1,000mAh battery that the company claims can last up to 18 days on standby. But you can expect the battery to last at least a week or more on a single charge, depending on your usage pattern. Feature phones usually last longer than smartphones.

HMD 105 Review: Verdict

The HMD 105 has a lot of features, such as an MP3 player, built-in UPI, FM radio, call recording, built-in torch, IP52 rating, dual SIM, microSD card support, removable battery, multilingual support, and a 1,000 mAh battery that offers up to 18 days of standby time. But it lacks 3G/4G connectivity, no web browser, and no camera for scanning UPI codes. In our experience, some keys did not react even to a slight touch. Apart from that, this phone is very good for the price of ₹ 999. If you are looking for a feature phone for calling, long battery life, and for listening to music and FM radio, then the HMD 105 is one of the few options in this budget.
