CNG or petrol in winter… which car gives more mileage?
Petrol and diesel prices are skyrocketing, which is why people have started turning to CNG cars for some time now. This is the reason why companies have also started launching CNG variants of their popular models. If you are also planning to buy a new car, then first you should know which car gives better mileage in winter, CNG or petrol?
Petrol Car vs CNG Car: Who is ahead in mileage?
Which vehicle will give better mileage depends on many things, but the best selling point of CNG vehicles is that these vehicles spread less pollution and give better mileage.
In winters, the gas in the CNG cylinder freezes just like the gas in the LPG cylinder used in your house freezes. This is the reason why a CNG car gives less mileage in winters as compared to a petrol car. Petrol does not freeze in winter, which is why cars running on petrol give more mileage.
If you want your car to give more mileage even in winters, then maintain your car regularly, get it serviced and drive properly. Be it summer or winter, bad driving also affects the mileage.
CNG Cars: Why do we have to compromise?
If you are buying a CNG car, you will not get boot space, that is, you will have to compromise on this because your car's CNG cylinder is lying in place of the boot space.
Tata Motors and Hyundai have resolved this problem of CNG car buyers and now both these companies are launching such cars which are being provided with full boot space along with CNG cylinder. But at present, apart from these two companies, CNG cars of other companies may face the problem of boot space.
