Ratan Tata opened the job box! 30 thousand people are needed
Does radiation from mobile towers affect pregnant women? A government committee has answered this question and has also recommended that the electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation from mobile towers should be increased more than ten times the current limit.
A government committee, which includes representatives from the Department of Telecommunications and the Ministry of Health, has recommended that the electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation emitted by mobile towers be increased more than ten times the current limit. This is being done to be in line with the 2020 norms of the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP). This recommendation has been made as part of an effort to improve network coverage in the country and reduce the need to install more towers. COAI, a lobbying body for the telecom industry, had also made a similar demand, saying that 'ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection) criteria are safe.' This raises the question of whether high radiation will affect children, pregnant women, or animals. The government panel has also responded to this.
Does mobile radiation affect pregnant women?
The panel says that even increasing the limit of radiation from mobile towers by 10 times will not cause any harm to people, children, pregnant women, or animals. This will improve the mobile network and there will be no need to install more towers. But the panel also warns that this may increase people's suspicion. Although the government committee has advised to increase the amount of radiation (EMF) emitted from mobile towers by 10 times in its report, it has also admitted that this may cause problems for people and they will not be able to trust it much.
The government wants to reduce the anxiety of the people.
Some people feel that radiation is a threat to health. The government wants to reduce this concern of the people. That is why it wants to get the mobile towers tested at a low cost. There is already a law in India that the amount of radiation emitted from the towers should be very low. This amount is 10 times less than the ICNIRP level. But mobile companies say that due to such low radiation, the phone network will not work properly and they will have to install more towers.
Many mobile towers were removed due to concern.
COAL director general, retired lieutenant general SP Kochar, told the Times of India that the issue of radiation from telecom towers, no matter how small, has always been a sensitive one. People from many areas and pressure groups have filed cases in courts against the installation of towers. There have been many such cases across the country where companies have had to remove towers due to people's petitions or protests.
ICNIRP rules are applicable in these countries
If the rules of radio waves (EMF) emitted from mobile towers are not changed, then the speed and quality of 5G in India will be affected. Lieutenant General (Retired) SP Kochar of COAI says that this will slow down the speed of the net, the network will deteriorate and the signals will also be weak. He says that ICNIRP rules are already applicable in countries like England, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Ireland, Egypt, Uganda, and Saudi Arabia. COAI has also sent a proposal to Telecom Secretary Neeraj Mittal in this regard.
