After Vidya Balan, Akshay Kumar will also be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3? Know details!

Director Anees Bazmee, who is now set to direct the third part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, has shared that actor Akshay Kumar will not be a part of the project. In a recent interview, Anees confirmed that the upcoming film will star Vidya Balan and Kartik Aaryan in the lead roles and that Akshay Kumar will not be joining the third part.
Speaking over Zoom, Anees Bazmee clarified, "No, Akshay is not a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. I am looking forward to working with him, but unfortunately, I have not been able to script a film where we work together. This will definitely happen in the future." He mentioned that the first day of shooting for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is tentatively scheduled for March 10, although he has not yet decided on the exact date.
Talking about Vidya Balan, the director said, “See, Vidya had agreed to do a 3-day role in my film Thank You. I remember I called her and it didn't take long for her to give her consent. I don't know why, but I can never forget that kind gesture. It all started from there and today I am here, ready to go on set.”
On Monday, Kartik shared a video from the first Bhool Bhulaiyaa film on his Instagram, in which Vidya as Manjulika is seen dancing to Ami J Tomar. Also, the actor wrote in the caption, “And it is happening. Manjulika is returning to the world of the maze. Excited to welcome @balanvidya. #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 is going to rock this Diwali.”
The first Bhool Bhulaiyaa was released in 2007. It was a remake of the Malayalam classic Manichitrathazhu, starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel, Manoj Joshi and Paresh Rawal. This film thriller was a hit and earned Rs 82 crore. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was a horror comedy directed by Anees Bazmee. It is simply a spiritual sequel, it had an all-new cast led by Kartik and also featured Tabu, Kiara Advani and Rajpal Yadav. This film was also successful and earned Rs 266 crore.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is also said to be a horror comedy and is being directed by Bazmee again. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, the film will release on Diwali 2024.
