Kelvin Jonas Cancer Symptoms: Priyanka Chopra's husband Nick Jonas' younger brother Kelvin Jonas is undergoing treatment for skin cancer. Recently, he shared this information on his Instagram handle.

Jonas Brothers American pop rock band member and Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra's brother-in-law Calvin Jonas is suffering from basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer. Recently, he is undergoing treatment for it. He has also posted an Instagram post to spread awareness about this disease and encourage people to get their skin checked regularly. 

He said in the video, "Today I am having a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head. Yes, it is real skin cancer and I have to undergo surgery to remove it now." Later, he also shared a clip of himself returning home after the surgery, in which he had a bandage on his forehead. 

Symptoms of skin cancer on the forehead

During a checkup of a mole on his forehead, Calvin Jonas found out that he had basal cell carcinoma skin cancer. After which he underwent surgery for it. 

What is Basal Cell Carcinoma 

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common type of skin cancer. It is slow-growing and can be treated if detected early. According to the Cleveland Clinic, basal cell carcinoma forms in the basal cells of the skin. Basal cells are present in the lower part of your epidermis, which is the outer layer of your skin. 

Symptoms of Basal Cell Carcinoma

Lumps, pimples, scabs, or crusty lesions on the skin

The lump may be slightly visible

The lump grows slowly over time

Itching or pain in the lump 

The growth of many moles on the body

How does basal cell carcinoma occur? 

The main cause of skin cancer is the UV rays of the sun. Therefore, it is very important to take safety measures while going out in the sun. Along with this, UV light therapy, family history, weak immune system, and very fair complexion are also risk factors for basal cell carcinoma. Apart from this, men have a higher risk of this than women.
