There was a lot of uproar over the incident of molestation of a woman in Hingoli, Maharashtra on Sunday night. This incident was carried out by some youths belonging to a particular community. In such a situation, people of Hindu organizations came in support of the woman and soon people came out on the streets and started protesting. Seeing the matter getting serious, the police swung into action and immediately registered a case against the accused and calmed the people by assuring them of arrest as soon as possible. This incident is from Basmat of Hingoli.
Police are investigating the case. According to the police, the victim woman belongs to the Hindu community and had come to the market on Sunday evening to buy vegetables. During this time, Abdul Majeed and Abdul Usman, youths of a particular community, molested her. After this incident, the victim came to her home and then went to the police with her family. At that time, instead of registering a case against the accused, the police sent her back by assuring action. On this, a ruckus started in the police station.
On receiving the information, people from Hindu organizations also reached the spot. During this, there was a demand to immediately register a case against the accused and arrest them. Even after this, when no action was taken by the police, people came out on the streets. By this time, hundreds of people from Hindu organizations along with the victim's neighbors had reached there. Some saints and sages also participated in this demonstration. People started shouting slogans against the police and administration outside the police station. Seeing the matter getting out of hand, the police also tried to convince the people, but the people insisted on registering a case and arresting the accused at any cost. Seeing the situation getting worse, the police registered a case and took the accused into custody. After this, people calmed down and quietly returned home from there. The police said that the matter is being investigated. According to Additional SP Archana Patil, footage of CCTV cameras installed around the incident site is also being seen to investigate the matter.
