A shocking incident has sent ripples of fear across Begusarai, Bihar, after Union Minister of State for Water Resources and Muzaffarpur MP Raj Bhushan Nishad’s maternal uncle, Malik Sahni, was shot. The attack, which left him injured with a bullet wound in his leg, is currently under police investigation. Several suspects have been detained for questioning.

The Dispute That Led to Violence

The incident took place at Bhagwati Sthan Chowk near Kumbhi village in Cheria Bariyarpur, where Malik Sahni runs a snack and sweets shop with his son. Two days before the attack, some individuals had visited the shop to buy goods while his son, Vikas, was attending to customers.

It is reported that the dispute arose over the price of a cold drink, with the miscreants allegedly refusing to pay for their purchase. This led to an altercation between them and Vikas. Malik Sahni, unaware of the conflict, was at his shop when the assailants returned with weapons.

Attack on the Shop – Bullets Fired

According to Sahni, three masked gunmen arrived on a bike, opened fire at the shop, and then quickly fled. Two bullets hit his leg, while the gunfire also damaged a fridge and motor inside the store.

He later revealed that his son had received threats from the same individuals following the initial dispute. However, Vikas had not informed him about the threats, which may have escalated into this violent attack.

Police Investigation Underway

Authorities have launched an investigation and have reportedly identified the suspects. Several individuals have been taken into custody for interrogation. The police are working to establish the exact motive and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
