CBSE gives big relief to 12th class students! Permission to use calculator may be given in accounts exam

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is considering allowing the use of ordinary calculators in the 12th class accounts exam to reduce the mental pressure of students. A committee has been formed to take a decision on this.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is considering allowing the use of simple calculators in the 12th class accounts exam to reduce the cognitive pressure on students. Board officials have said that a committee will be formed to prepare guidelines for this. The committee will also ensure that uniformity is maintained in the exam.
CBSE has already allowed differently abled students to use calculators in classes 10th and 12th. Apart from this, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISEC) also allowed the students of class 12th to use calculators in 2021.
A senior board official said that the CBSE curriculum committee had proposed that a simple calculator should be allowed in the Class 12 accounts exam, which would be useful only for general financial calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentage calculations.
Performance will be better
The committee also believes that allowing calculators will reduce the computational pressure on students. They argue that the mental burden that students feel while doing long and complex calculations increases their stress. Whereas the use of a simple calculator will reduce this burden and improve the performance of students.
Mental stress will reduce
This initiative is being taken with the aim of making the examination more accessible for the students. So that they can participate in the examination with their full potential. It is expected that with this step taken by CBSE, students will get relief from mental pressure during the examination and they will be able to participate in the examination with more confidence.
