MP Vijaypur Bypoll Result: BNP's forest minister lost the election in Madhya Pradesh, now raising questions on EVM, demanding recounting

A big upset has been witnessed in the Vijaypur seat of Madhya Pradesh. Congress candidate Mukesh Malhotra has won from here. He has defeated Forest Minister Ramniwas Rawat by 7228 votes. Rawat has raised questions on EVMs. He has demanded recounting. He is going to apply for this.

Voting was held on 13 November for the Vijaypur seat. Ramnivas had won the assembly election on a Congress ticket. However, he resigned from the assembly membership and joined the BJP. BJP gave him a ticket in the by-election. However, he had to face defeat in this election.

Ramniwas Rawat has been an MLA 6 times

Ramniwas Rawat is counted among the big leaders of Madhya Pradesh. He has been a member of the Legislative Assembly 6 times. His displeasure with the Congress came to the fore just before the Lok Sabha elections. He was angry because Satyapal Singh Sikarwar was given the Morena-Sheopur Lok Sabha seat. Ramniwas has contested the Legislative Assembly elections 8 times and the Lok Sabha elections 2 times.

Rawat started lagging behind after the counting of the 15th round

• After 20 rounds of counting, Congress took a lead of 6523 votes in Vijaypur.
• Congress maintained its lead even after the 18th round. In this round, Mukesh Malhotra took a lead of 4747 votes.
• After 17 rounds of counting, Congress was ahead by 4925 votes.
• After the 16th round of counting, Mukesh was ahead by 1842 votes. Earlier, Ramniwas was leading.
• In the 15th round of counting, BJP's lead decreased and Rawat's lead remained at 1496.
• After the counting of the 14th round, Rawat was ahead by 5043 votes.
• After the counting of the 13th round, Ramniwas was ahead by 6487 votes.
• After the 12th round, Ramniwas Rawat's lead decreased slightly from the 11th round and he remained ahead by 5435 votes.
• After the 11th round of counting, Ramniwas was ahead of the Congress candidate by 6098 votes.
• After 10 rounds of counting, Rawat took a lead of 5001 votes.
• After the counting of the 9th round, Rawat's score was 6876.
• After the counting of the 8th round, Rawat took the lead by 8661 votes.
