Budget Overview:

PM Janman Yojana has a huge budget of around Rs 24,000, involving the participation of nine ministries. This financial commitment underlines the dedication of the Government to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the marginalized and backward sections of the society.

Target Beneficiaries:

Designed specifically for vulnerable tribal groups, the scheme identifies 75 communities spread across all states and union territories as Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). The overarching goal is to promote the development of these communities by providing better access to safe housing , clean drinking water , sanitation , education , health and nutrition as well as basic amenities such as electricity ,Sustainable livelihood opportunities are also a major focus.

Scheme Details:

PM Janman Yojana is set to enhance the socio-economic conditions of PVTGs by addressing basic needs and promoting overall development. This includes safe housing , clean water , sanitation , better education and health care access, and better infrastructure. The scheme is in line with the Prime Minister's PVGT Mission announced during the Budget speech for 2023-24, which emphasizes on economic betterment and development of vulnerable tribal groups.

Prime Minister's announcement of PVGT Mission during Budget speech 2023-24 laid the foundation for comprehensive development of vulnerable tribal groups. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will ceremoniously release the eagerly awaited first installment of PM Janman Yojana, which will benefit one lakh beneficiaries. This is an important step towards achieving the objectives of the Mission and improving the economic condition of vulnerable tribal groups.
