More than 8 crore farmers had got the benefit of the 14th installment, but now at the time of the 15th installment, there may be a decrease in the number of beneficiaries. The reason for this is that a large number of farmers were found ineligible. A large number of farmers are not completing the works covered under the scheme.

It is noteworthy that under the scheme, financial assistance of six thousand rupees is given to the farmers every year by the Central Government. This amount is released in three installments of Rs 2,000 each.
