In a deserted area, the accused dragged her into the bushes and after raping her, strangled her to death. Not only this, this psycho killer went away from there after raping and killing the student. After some time, he returned to the scene and raped the student's dead body as well. After this incident in the Pardi taluka area, the police became active. The student's body was found in the bushes near the railway track and a T-shirt and bag were recovered from there. The accused was identified based on these clues.

CCTV footage near the railway track revealed the secret

CCTV footage played a big role in the case of the rape and murder of the student. During the investigation, the police got clues from the footage of CCTV cameras near the railway track and the parking area. In these, a man was seen wearing the same T-shirt and carrying the same bag which was found at the crime scene on the day of the incident.

Photos sent to railway stations in Gujarat

After this important clue, the police sent the pictures of the accused to all the railway stations of Gujarat. The investigation team scanned more than 2,000 CCTV footage. Meanwhile, it was found that the accused was earlier also caught in a theft case and was kept in Lajpor jail in Surat. The accused came out of jail on bail in May.

Identified by jail inmates

Some inmates of Lajpore jail helped the police identify the accused. Investigation revealed that the accused hailed from Rohtak in Haryana. However, he had not visited his village for several years.

The family had thrown the accused out of the house

A police team reached Rohtak to gather information about the accused. There it was found that the criminal record of the accused Rahul had become a cause of trouble for his family. The family had thrown him out of the house due to his continuous involvement in theft incidents. The accused's father has also passed away now and there were no signs of his returning to Haryana.

Following a thorough police investigation and close scrutiny of the footage, the accused was arrested at Vapi railway station on November 24. The arrest was the result of a joint operation by Gujarat police and officials from other states.

During the investigation, it was also revealed that the accused Rahul used to work at a dhaba in Vapi city. On the day of the incident, he had come to Vapi to collect money from the dhaba owner. He was sitting at Valsad railway station waiting for another train to return. During this time, he saw a female student going home alone from tuition. The accused started following the girl student and as soon as she reached a deserted place near the railway track, the accused came from behind, gagged her and dragged her into the bushes. There he raped her and later killed her.

Confession of 5 murders in 25 days

During interrogation, the accused also confessed that a day before this incident, he had killed a woman during a robbery in Secunderabad, Telangana. Rahul also told that in October he raped a woman near Solapur railway station in Maharashtra and then killed her. After this, in October, he killed an elderly man with a knife after robbing him at Howrah station in West Bengal. A passenger was stabbed to death over a minor dispute at Mulki station in Karnataka. In this way, the accused committed 5 murders in total in 25 days and confessed to his vicious crimes.

Crime history of the accused

The arrested accused said that he used to commit crimes by roaming in trains. He has been involved in incidents like theft, robbery and murder. There are already 13 cases registered against him. During interrogation, it was also revealed that he had also committed murders in Maharashtra, West Bengal and Karnataka in October.

The accused used to steal passengers' belongings on trains. At the time of the incident, he was wearing foreign shoes worth Rs 10,000, which he had stolen from the train.
