Tirupati Laddu News: There is anger among Hindus across the country regarding Tirupati Laddu. The claims of fat in the prasad have hurt the faith of crores of devotees. Now SP MP Dimple Yadav has demanded to test the khoya of Mathura. Many famous sweets like peda are made from it.
Sweets like peda made from khoya in Mathura are also under suspicion now. SP MP from UP's Mainpuri seat Dimple Yadav has demanded an investigation into Mathura's khoya. At present, the issue of allegedly mixing animal fat in the laddus given as prasad to the devotees in Tirupati temple of Andhra Pradesh is hot. Describing this kind of adulteration as a 'very serious' matter, the SP MP said that there are reports of adulteration in the 'khoya' being sold in Mathura. This should also be investigated.
Khoya adulterated in Mathura?
While talking to journalists during 'Jan Jagran Samvidhan Bachao Cycle Yatra', Dimple expressed her views on a question asked about adulteration of Tirupati Laddu Prasad with animal fat. She said that this is a 'very serious' matter and it has hurt the religious sentiments of the people. Dimple said, 'The government should investigate this and punish the culprits. There are also reports that adulterated khoya is also being sold in Mathura. The BJP government should investigate both the cases.'
Took 13 samples of Prasad
The Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) in Uttar Pradesh has collected 13 samples of prasad from major temples in Mathura for testing. SP MP Dimple Yadav alleged, "Due to the failure of the food department, adulterated food and oil are causing very serious diseases. The food department is negligent and silent on this."
What has happened so far in the Laddu case
In the wake of allegations of adulteration in laddus in Tirupati, FSSAI has issued a show cause notice to a Tamil Nadu-based company for allegedly supplying substandard ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. In the notice, the food regulator has asked 'AR Dairy Food Private Limited' why its central license should not be suspended for violating the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Regulation 2011. According to the notice, FSSAI said that it has received information from the director of 'Preventive Medicine Institute' located in Mangalagiri (Andhra Pradesh) that Dindigul-based AR Dairy Food Private Limited has been supplying ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) for the last four years.
The entire temple administration is responsible...
Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of Jyotirmath in Uttarakhand has made a scathing comment on the incident of alleged animal fat being found in the 'prasadam' given to devotees at Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh. He has held the entire temple administration responsible for this. During a program in Lucknow, he said, 'Such a big incident has happened... The trustees of Tirupati temple, the office bearers, the top officials appointed, all are guilty. Even if a third person is found guilty in the investigation, but prima facie everyone is guilty. Right now he does not have the right to make a statement and show off, because all this happened when he was in a responsible position.' (With Bhasha input)
