Weather Forecast Update: IMD Issues Severe Heat Wave Alert for 30 to 35 Days

IMD Warns of Prolonged Heat Wave Across India
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe heat wave alert for most parts of the country, predicting an intense rise in temperature over the next 30 to 35 days. According to IMD, the mercury is expected to rise by 2 to 5 degrees in regions including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra within the next 2 to 3 days.
Rising Temperatures in Hilly Regions
Not just the plains, but mountainous regions like Uttarakhand are also experiencing an increase in temperature. A temperature hike of up to 4 degrees has been recorded due to the ongoing dry weather. Light rainfall is expected in select regions such as Pithoragarh, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi on March 27 and 28.
Delhi to Witness Hot Winds
Delhi's temperature is on an upward trend. On March 25, the minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to be around 19.05°C and 37.2°C, respectively, with winds blowing at a speed of 7 km/h. IMD predicts that by March 26, Delhi's maximum temperature will reach approximately 38.74°C.
Uttar Pradesh to Experience Strong Winds
Uttar Pradesh is witnessing fluctuating weather conditions, including sporadic rainfall and gusty winds. However, IMD has forecasted that strong hot winds, blowing at 20 to 30 km/h, will begin impacting the state over the next two to three days.
Maharashtra's Temperature on the Rise
Maharashtra will experience a dry day on March 25, with temperatures ranging from 22°C in the morning to 32°C in the afternoon. Despite clear weather, fog is expected in some areas. IMD has also issued a heat wave warning for the state, with rising temperatures predicted in the afternoons.
Bihar's Weather Shifts as Rain Subsides
Bihar has experienced fluctuating temperatures due to recent rainfall. However, with the weakening of western disturbances and shifting wind patterns, the heat is intensifying again.
Rainfall Expected in Southern and Eastern States
While northern and central India brace for scorching temperatures, heavy rainfall has been predicted in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Additionally, storms continue to impact areas in Jharkhand, including Bokaro, Chaibasa, Dumka, Hazaribagh, and Ranchi.
Precautionary Measures
Authorities advise people to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take necessary precautions to mitigate heat-related illnesses. Residents in affected states should stay updated with weather forecasts and follow guidelines issued by local authorities.
