The Defence Ministers of India and China are going to meet for the first time after disengagement on LAC. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is going to meet his Chinese counterpart Dong Jun in this regard. Rajnath Singh will meet Dong Jun during the two-day 10-nation ASEAN summit starting on November 20 in Laos. This meeting is considered very important for both the countries. Only last month, both the armies had retreated in eastern Ladakh. After this, patrolling was started again in India's Depsang and Demchok areas.

In the last four years, while India and China deployed more than 50,000 soldiers and weapons in eastern Ladakh, both countries carried out military construction according to their own needs. The Chinese did a lot of work on bridges, new bases, and infrastructure to speed up the deployment of troops and equipment. In comparison, India also constructed roads, bridges, and airbases near the LAC.

Even though the armies retreated after the agreement on disengagement in eastern Ladakh, commander-level talks continue to take place between the two countries to build mutual trust. Because there are many differences between China's words and actions. Therefore, India does not want to leave any stone unturned in its preparations near the LAC in eastern Ladakh.
