Mahin Qadri was born in 1977 in Qazvin city of Iran. She was the third child among 8 siblings in the family. Due to financial constraints and family traditions, Mahin was educated only till third grade. Although Mahin (Mahin Qadri Case) could not study much, she was still very intelligent. She loved her family very much. Later on, many difficulties and challenges came into her life, which made her even stronger.

Despite limited resources, Mahin tried everything possible to take care of her family. According to The Guardian, Mahin was fond of reading crime novels since childhood. She often used to read Agatha Christie's novels. Agatha Christie's books were often based on mysterious murders and unsolved crimes, and many people in Iran used to read those books. People liked her books very much. Agatha had traveled to Iran many times. She has also written many stories on Iran. That is why her stories are still read in Iran.

But while Agatha's stories were written based on imagination, Mahin had made them her source of reality. That means those stories had a deep impact on Mahin's mind. She believed them to be true. She used to read these stories very carefully. But who knew that she would use these stories for her horrifying intentions?

Marriage at the age of 14

Mahin was married at the age of 14. At that time she was just an innocent girl who dreamt about her new life. But her life was going to be even more difficult in the future, she was unaware of all this. After Mahin's marriage, she had good relations with her in-laws. Everything was going well. But she had a very bad habit. She liked to waste money on useless things.

But due to lack of money, she would often borrow money from people to fulfill this hobby and would remain in debt. In the initial days, her in-laws ignored these habits of hers. They thought that she would improve with time. But they were wrong. This habit of Mahin was increasing day by day.

Husband stopped giving money

Due to this, Mahin's husband refused to give her unnecessary money to improve her. This made Mahin very angry but she kept quiet. Soon she became the mother of a child. She was happy. After 10 years, Mahin again had another daughter. She was very happy again. But her happiness did not last long.

When the younger daughter was one and a half years old, she fell seriously ill. Due to this, she started becoming physically weak. This shocked Mahin too. She started trying day and night to raise money for her treatment. Mahin was now left alone in the battle between poverty and illness. Even her husband's money was not enough to treat her daughter. Mahin started living in more depression. She was ready to do anything for her daughter.

Mother did not give money either

She asked her relatives for financial help. But everyone knew about her old habit. So no one helped Mahin. Of course this time she was really asking for money for her daughter. But the relatives thought that she was asking for money for unnecessary expenses. No one either gave her money or made some excuse. Even Mahin's own mother refused to help her. These circumstances ignited such a fire inside Mahin that her future life was going to be ruined. She started hating her mother immensely.

One day when she was looking out of the window of her house, she saw an old woman walking on the road. The woman's hands and neck were shining with gold bangles and necklace. Then an idea came to Mahin's mind, which completely changed the direction of her life. She thought- I should find a solution to my poverty myself. Thinking this, she made a terrifying plan. Then what, as per the plan, Mahin was once at a place called Imamzadehs Chahar-Anbiya. Old women often came here to pray and get peace.

A single woman was made a victim

Mahin saw that many women had come alone. They were wearing gold ornaments. As per the plan, Mahin chose one woman. She went to her and said- Amma, seeing you reminded me of my mother who is no longer in this world. She also used to pray in the same way as you are doing. If you don't mind, can I drop you to your house? The old woman was also convinced by his words. She agreed to go with him.

Mahin made the old woman sit in her yellow Renault car and started moving ahead. On the way, she gave the old woman juice to drink. But Mahin had already mixed a sedative in that juice. As soon as the old woman drank the juice, she started feeling dizzy. Taking advantage of the situation, Mahin did what she had planned. She strangled the old woman to death with her scarf. After this, she kept roaming around the city with the dead body in the car.

When it was night, she went to a deserted place and dumped the dead body. Before that, she took out all the jewellery of the old woman and kept it with herself. Now Mahin had a strange satisfaction. But a fear also arose inside her. Despite this, she did not stop here. One day, she chose another victim in the same way. She used to target only old women. Because she could easily trap them in her words. She used to go to such places where she could easily find old women.

For the second time, Mahin made another woman his victim in the same way. He made her sit in his car on the pretext of giving her a lift. He made that woman drink juice too. Then like in the first case, he killed that old woman too, looted her jewellery and later disposed of the body.

Women were constantly being murdered

Now after every murder, Mahin started getting a strange happiness. She was not caught even in the first case, so her courage had become even stronger. She felt that whatever she was doing was right. But when the news spread in the whole city that someone was killing old women, people got scared. The police also started investigating who was making old women their victims in this way.

On the other hand, Mahin was continuously carrying out her crimes. The police also started feeling that the pattern of all the deaths was the same. Poisonous juice was found in their bodies. The police understood that this must be the work of a serial killer and it is very important to stop him. Otherwise, the people of the city will continue to be in the same panic and who knows how many more innocent people the serial killer will keep killing.

Mahin's plan failed

One day Mahin took out his car for the next victim. This time he headed towards a crowded area of the city. Many women used to come here for shopping. He chose an old woman who was shopping in the market. Mahin said- Mother, where will you carry so much stuff. I will help you. The old woman was convinced by his words. Then the same sequence started again. In the car, Mahin gave the old woman intoxicating juice to drink. But this time something happened which Mahin would have never imagined.

The elderly woman refused to drink the juice. The woman saw that Mahin was driving in the wrong direction and became suspicious. She decided to get out of the car. She said, drop me here. Mahin could not do anything and dropped the woman. But the woman had also heard about those deaths. So she immediately informed the police about this incident.

This is how Mahin was arrested.

Keeping in mind all the things told by the woman, the police started checking all the yellow Renault cars. A total of 27 thousand cars were checked. After a few days, the same elderly woman saw the car again and noted its number. Then she informed the police. The police then arrested Mahin and her husband after 109 days. The police also recovered the newspapers from their house that mentioned Mahin's crimes.

Apart from this, they also found many books written on serial killing from there. Mahin and her husband were taken for interrogation. Two police officers interrogated her. During that time, Mahin repeatedly pleaded about her daughter's illness who was now 7 years old. After overnight interrogation, Mahin confessed to her crime on the morning of 27 May 2009. She said - My mother is responsible for all this. She did not help in my daughter's treatment. From then on, I started targeting such women whose age matched my mother's.

The court pronounced the death sentence.

No such evidence was found against Mahin's husband because he did not know anything about his wife's activities. Therefore, he was released. Whereas, Mahin was accused of killing 6 elderly women. The court convicted Mahin and sentenced him to death. Apart from this, he was also convicted of theft 6 times. For which he was sentenced to 24 months in jail and 74 lashes. Hearing this, Mahin's eyes filled with tears. But she did not say anything about this. She was sent to jail. Here also no prisoner talked to her because everyone was aware of her crime. After this, she was hanged on 20 December 2010.
