Is Russia preparing for a nuclear war? This move of Putin's government raises questions.
Is Russia preparing for a nuclear war? This question is in discussion due to two decisions of the Putin government on Tuesday. While President Putin approved the change in Russia's nuclear doctrine on Tuesday, large-scale production of anti-nuclear mobile-shelters has been started in the country.
Mobile shelters are being built in Russia that can protect against a variety of threats, including shock waves and radiation from a nuclear explosion. The Research Institute of the Russian Emergency Ministry has said that the "KUB-M" shelter can provide protection against many natural and man-made threats for up to 48 hours.
Russia is building an anti-nuclear shelter.
The "KUB-M" shelters being built in Russia look like shipping containers, consisting of two modules. The first one can accommodate 54 people in one room, the second one is a technical block. The research institute says that "the mobile shelter is a multi-functional structure that will provide protection from a variety of threats, whether natural disasters or man-made. This is an important step towards promoting the safety of our citizens."
The special thing is that this mobile shelter can be easily transported anywhere in a truck and can be connected to water supply. The research institute says that it can also be deployed in the northern permafrost region of Russia.
Steps taken after America's decision
Although this decision is not being linked to the latest developments, it has come at a time when just a few days ago the Biden administration has given Ukraine permission to use long-range missiles against Russia. The Kremlin called the Biden administration's decision irresponsible and said that Moscow will definitely respond to it.
Putin preparing for nuclear attack?
On Tuesday itself, President Putin approved a new change in the principle related to the conditions of use of nuclear weapons. This process was going on for a long time but Putin chose the day to sign it when Ukraine fired long-range American missiles for the first time in the Russian border area. According to this new change, if there is a missile or drone attack on Russia with the support of a nuclear-powered country, then in such a situation it can use nuclear weapons.
