After firing more than 300 rockets and drones on Israel on Sunday morning, Hezbollah said that it had avenged the death of its commander Fuad Shukr. Israel had killed Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr while striking in Lebanon on 30 July. After which Hezbollah vowed to take revenge for this, after a long period of threats, Hezbollah carried out its revenge on Sunday.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has now revealed the reason behind the delay in this attack. Nasrallah said that he postponed the decision to avenge the killing of Fuad Shukr several times due to several different reasons. According to Nasrallah, delaying the counter-attack was not in Lebanon's interest, but this delay has hurt Israel and its economy. Apart from this, Gaza peace talks are also an important reason for the delay in the attack.

After the assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyya and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Iran's capital Tehran, Iran, Hezbollah, Houthi, and Iraqi rebel groups were constantly threatening to retaliate against Israel. Experts had expressed apprehension that a major giant attack could take place on Israel in which many proxies of the region could attack Israel together.

But on Sunday morning Hezbollah attacked Israel alone. Hassan Nasrallah said that on Sunday Hezbollah decided to attack without its alliance. He said that Hezbollah has its motive behind this which will be revealed later. He also said that other rebel groups in the region will decide together how to respond to Israel.

"Civilians will not be targeted"

Hassan Nasrallah has claimed in his statement that his attack targeted the Israeli army's Glilot military base, just 1.5 kilometers from Tel Aviv. He said, "When we planned our retaliation, we decided that we would not target civilian facilities and civilian population, but would target military bases near Tel Aviv and those targets that would be linked to the murder of Fuad Shukr.

Nasrallah claimed that the Glilot base was chosen because it houses the so-called Unit 8200 of Israeli military intelligence, which is responsible for the killing of Fuad Shukr.

The attack has increased tensions in the Middle East

Tensions have increased in the Middle East after Hezbollah's latest attack. Many world powers have appealed to both sides to reduce tensions. After Hezbollah's attack, Israel claimed that more than 100 fighter jets of its Air Force were flying in the skies of Lebanon and targeting Hezbollah's bases.
