S. Jaishankar said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kiev is historic. This is the first time an Indian Prime Minister has visited Ukraine since diplomatic relations were established in 1992. The PM arrived at Kiev railway station in the morning by a special train, where he was given a grand welcome. He met the Indian community and also met Ukrainian students studying Hindi.

Regarding PM Modi's message on the Russia-Ukraine war, Jaishankar said, "India believes that the two sides need to talk to each other to find a solution. The problem cannot be solved on any field. India supports dialogue and diplomacy so that peace and stability can return as soon as possible." Jaishankar further said that Ukraine wants India's continued participation in the peace summit. He also talked about respecting territorial integrity.

On PM Modi paying tribute to the children killed in the Russia-Ukraine war, the Foreign Minister said that any death is regrettable.
