America's newly elected President Donald Trump has given a big responsibility to another Indian-origin person. Trump has appointed Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, born in Kolkata, India, as the director of the American National Institute of Health (NIH). Announcing Jay's appointment, Trump said I am very happy to nominate Dr. Jay Bhattacharya as the director of NIH. Dr. Bhattacharya will work with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. towards medical research in the country, which will improve the country's health system.

Dr. Jai Bhattacharya has expressed happiness over his appointment. He said that Donald Trump has appointed me as the Director of NIH. I feel honored and proud of this. We will reform American scientific institutions so that they are trustworthy again and will do excellent work to make America healthy again.

Earlier, Trump had appointed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the Secretary of HHS. At the same time, Indian-origin Vivek Ramaswami was given important responsibility. Kolkata-born Dr Jay Bhattacharya (MD, PHD) is a professor of health policy at Stanford University. He graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine in 1997 and received a PhD in Economics from Stanford in 2000. He is also an associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and serves as the director of Stanford's Center for Demography and Economics of Health and Aging. This is the same Dr Jay Bhattacharya who had strongly criticized the US COVID policy during the Corona period. Dr Jay Bhattacharya was severely criticized for raising questions in the COVID case.
