After almost two decades, the exciting Afro-Asia Cup can be organized once again. Talks have started regarding this. If everything goes well, it is expected that players from India and Pakistan will be seen playing for the same team.

How will it be when the cricketers of arch-rivals India and Pakistan take the field for the same team? They play together and not against each other on the field. This may sound good. Fans will get to see the brilliant batting of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Babar Azam. On the other hand, the sharp bowling of Jaspreet Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi. Many cricket fans will not believe this, but this is going to be true. In fact, the Africa Cricket Association (ACA) has started talks with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and other stakeholders to restart the once-popular Afro-Asia Cup after almost two decades.

In this tournament, teams from both continents play against each other. The Afro-Asia Cup has been held twice so far. The tournament was held in South Africa in 2005 (drawn) and in India in 2007 (Asia won). The third edition was scheduled to be held in Kenya in 2009 but it never happened. "Apart from cricket, the Afro-Asia Cup brings in much-needed financials for the organization and there is a lot of willpower on both sides," ACA interim president and Zimbabwe Cricket president Tawengwa Mukuhlani was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

Afro-Asia Cup is exciting.

He said, 'We have talked to our counterparts of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and our associations from the African continent. They want the Afro-Asia Cup to be restarted.' The ACC has not yet responded to this issue. In 2005, the Asian team was led by Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Indian players like Rahul Dravid, Ashish Nehra, and Anil Kumble were included in it.

The 2007 Asian team featured Indian players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, and Sachin Tendulkar while Pakistan was represented by Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Akhtar. The ACA is also considering organizing an African Premier League on the lines of the Indian Premier League.
