IPL 2023: The list of Purple Cap contenders changed after Mumbai-Punjab, this bowler made it to the top five

In the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, there has also been a change in the list of Purple contenders after the match played between five-time champions Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings on Wednesday.

Mumbai Indians spin bowler Piyush Chawla took two wickets in this match to enter the list of the top five bowlers with the most wickets in this edition of IPL. Piyush Chawla now has 15 wickets in nine matches in this edition of IPL. With this, Chawla has come fourth in this list. 

At present, the Purple Cap of IPL 16 is occupied by Gujarat fast bowler Mohammed Shami. He has taken 17 wickets in nine matches. CSK's Tushar Deshpande (17 wickets) is in second place. Arshdeep Singh (16 wickets) is third and Mohammad Siraj (15 wickets) is in fifth place.
