IPL 2023: Yashasvi Jaiswal broke Shaun Marsh's 15-year-old record
Earlier edition champions Rajasthan Royals kept alive their hopes of reaching the IPL 14 playoffs by defeating Punjab Kings on the back of a brilliant innings from Yashasvi Jaiswal (50 off 36 balls). Based on this innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal also destroyed a record of 15 years.
Jaiswal has now become the uncapped player with the most runs in a single season in the history of IPL. In this case, he broke the record of Shaun Marsh of Australia, who scored a total of 616 runs in the 2008 IPL season as an uncapped player.
Rajasthan Royals opener Jaiswal now has 625 runs in this edition of IPL. He has become the second batsman to score six hundred-plus runs in this edition. RCB captain Faf du Plessis achieved this feat earlier. He has scored more than seven hundred runs this season.
