Cancer treatment from COVID-19? New research made shocking revelations
An interesting revelation has been made in the study about the Covid-19 virus that became a pandemic in 2020. This has indicated the shrinking of the cancerous tumor.
Severe COVID-19 viruses can cure cancer. This claim is being made in a study published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation. In this research, it was found that a special type of white blood cells produced in the body during COVID-19 called monocytes can eliminate cancer cells.
However, this does not mean that people should deliberately try to get infected with COVID-19, as it can be life-threatening. But studies suggest that our immune system can be trained against one type of threat and used to fight other diseases, such as cancer.
The Connection Between COVID-19 and Cancer
In this study, scientists focused on a particular type of monocytes produced during COVID-19. It works to protect the body from infection and other dangers. These monocytes are trained to fight viruses, but they also retain the ability to destroy cancer cells.
How does this system work?
The researchers conducted the test using mouse models that included four types of mutational cancers such as melanoma, lung, breast and colon cancer. These mice were given a drug that stimulates the immune response produced during severe infection with COVID-19. With the effect of this drug, special monocytes were produced, and as a result, tumors of the mouse began to shrink.
