Chaitra Month 2025: Chaitra is the first month of the Hindu calendar. On the last day of Chaitra month i.e. Purnima, the moon is in Chitra Nakshatra. This is why it is named Chaitra. In Chaitra month, the worship of Goddess Durga, Lord Vishnu's first Matsya avatar and Sun God has special significance. Creation began in the month of Chaitra. Nature also changes in Chaitra, so in this month one should not eat stale food, wake up late, or take bath with hot water.
Chaitra month will start from March 15 and will last till April 12, 2025.
