People decorate and clean the house because Goddess Lakshmi lives in such houses. If Goddess Lakshmi is happy then wealth, prosperity, and good fortune reside in the house. In such a situation, you can achieve happiness and prosperity in the house by doing many measures. Let us know about these measures. 

1. If you want to bring prosperity to your house on Diwali, then keep some gold and silver coins tied in a red cloth in an earthen pot in the north-west corner (Vayavya corner) of the house. Also, fill the pot with wheat or rice, this will ensure that you do not face a shortage of money. 

2. If you want happiness, peace, and prosperity in your home, then stand in the shade of a Peepal tree mix water, sugar, ghee, and milk in an iron vessel, and pour it at the root of the Peepal tree.  

3. If there is repeated loss of money in the house, then on the day of Diwali you should sprinkle gulal on the main gate of the house and light a two-faced lamp of pure ghee on it. When you are lighting the lamp, you should wish in your mind that you do not have to face financial loss in the house in the future. 

4. Apart from this, on the day of Diwali, move black sesame seeds seven times over the heads of all the family members and throw them in the north direction of the house. This will stop the loss of money. 

5. On Diwali, you should clean the main door of the house thoroughly and decorate it with rangoli and flowers. Apart from this, the main gate of the house should be clean. Because Goddess Lakshmi enters from this door.
