Empty Lota: Water is offered to many deities including Lord Shiva. For this, people take a lota along with puja material and prasad from home. While returning from the temple, do not bring an empty lota. Rather, bring some water in it. Or bring flowers and rice grains in the lota. This increases positivity and prosperity in the house. Otherwise, an empty lota brings poverty and negativity.
Consumption of meat and alcohol: Do not consume meat and alcohol even by mistake after visiting the temple. Doing so can anger the gods and goddesses and bring trouble to the family.
Prasad and flowers: As soon as you bring the prasad or flowers from the temple, place them respectfully at a holy place. Distribute the prasad among everyone and eat it yourself. Also, flow the flowers in water or place them at the root of a plant. Do not make the mistake of throwing flowers or keeping the prasad at an impure place.
Washing feet: Do not wash your feet immediately after coming from the temple. Nor go to the washroom immediately. This destroys the positive energy received from the temple. The peace and tranquility vanishes.
