Importance of Belpatra in the worship of Mahadev, do not make these mistakes before breaking them!
We all are excited about Mahashivratri. Please tell that this year Mahashivaratri is falling on 18 February 2023. On this day Shiva devotees offer prayers with full devotion and observe a fast. The festival of Mahashivaratri celebrates the union of Lord Shiva and Shakti. Devotees offer prasad, cannabis, and a variety of flowers and fruits to impress Lord Shiva.
Belpatra has special importance in Shiva worship. Worship of Mahadev is considered incomplete without Belpatra. According to popular belief, Lord Shiva is famous for his Rudra avatar and Bel Patra helps to calm down. If a person offers bel patra to Mahadev in the month of Sawan, then it is equal to one crore Kanyadaan. Belpatra has special importance in Shiva worship. There are some important rules that you should know before offering it to Lord Shiva otherwise it has negative effects.
Always offer belpatra with three leaves to Mahadev. There should not be any stain or damage in the leave,
Cut or damaged belpatra should not be offered on Shivling.
Belpatra should be washed with clean water and offered on Shivling. The dry part should be kept upwards.
If you do not have belpatra at the time of worship, you can wash the belpatra already offered to Lord Shiva by others and offer it again to Mahadev.
Offer at least 1 belpatra to Mahadev. Even if numbers like 11, 21, 51, and 10 are offered on the belpatra, it is considered good.
Take the name of Mahadev before applying Belpatra. After plugging it take blessings from the tree.
Belpatra should not be planted with the whole branch.
Do not apply Belpatra on Chaturthi, Ashtami, Navami Tithi, Pradosh Vrat, Shivratri, Amavasya, and Monday.
