One of these important documents is a Voter ID card. To exercise your franchise, it is very important for you to have a voter ID card. If you have not received it yet, you can easily apply for it online from the comfort of your home. Let us know the whole process.

Get a voter card made at home

General elections are to be held in India this year. All persons above 18 years of age are eligible to vote. If you are above 18 years of age and have not yet received your Voter ID Card, you can now apply for it online. Usually, Voter ID cards are issued by BLOs (Booth Level Officers), but the government has launched an online system for this purpose.

Follow this procedure

To get a Voter ID card sitting at home, you will have to visit the official website of the Election Commission https://eci.gov.in/. Click on the Voter Service Portal option. After this, you will have to create a new account by entering your mobile number. After filling out the OTP and creating the password, your account will be created successfully.

Once done, log in to your account, and click on New Registration. Then you have to fill in your personal details like name, address, gender, and details of any family member having a Voter ID card.

Upload this document

After filling in your details, you will have to upload documents like your photo and age proof document (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.). After the documents are uploaded, click on submit. After this, you will receive a tracking number, which can be used to check the status of your application. Your Voter ID card will be delivered to your registered address within 7 to 30 days.
