Joint accounts are often opened by close relatives such as husband-wife or business partners, but if you want to remove the name of the fellow account holder from the joint bank account, then for this you have to complete a process. Today we will tell you about this process. 

Fill these details in the form 

First of all, you have to take the form from the bank or download the form from the bank's website. Then in this form, the signature of those who have an account in their name and the signature of those whose name is to be removed will also have to be submitted to the bank.

In this, you will also have to fill in all the information of the fellow holder. If your bank account holder partner is a minor, then you will have to give the details of his guardian.

Let us tell you that in case of deletion of the name of the joint account holder, the account holders have to return their PAN cards. Whatever cards have been previously issued by the bank to that account holder, that account holder has to submit them back to the bank. Apart from this, the account holder has to declare that he has closed the debit or ATM card. 

Apply for New Cheque Book 

If you want to add the name of a new holder to your joint account, then for this you will also have to apply for a new chequebook. Apart from this, you have to return the unused check to the bank branch.

Along with this, also tell you that the name of the first or primary account holder is not removed and even if the bank remove the name of the primary account holder first. So if his number is registered for PIN OTP verification then it is deleted from the bank's records.
