Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while inaugurating the 'Krishi Bharat-2024 program' held recently in Lucknow, emphasized on self-reliance and the use of better technology for farmers. During the event, gamma radiation technology caught everyone's attention, which can preserve grains for more than six months even without cold storage.

Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Sahi and Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh visited the plant and assessed its efficiency. Describing it as a matter of pride for the state, the minister said that soon Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate this plant. POCT Group has set up this plant in Amausi Industrial Area by investing Rs 200 crore in the first phase based on the MoU of Rs 500 crore signed at the UP Global Investor Summit-2023.
Benefits for farmers and rural areas In addition to gamma radiation technology, POCT Group has digitized more than 400 community health centres (CHCs). With this, farmers of rural areas are getting state-of-the-art medical facilities. This initiative to preserve food grains through gamma radiation technology will provide great relief to the farmers as well as help in increasing their income. Now the problem of rotting and spoilage of grains can be a thing of the past.
