Recipe- Everyone from children to adults will like the taste of sweet and sour dhokla, note down the recipe!

Gujarat is famous for various reasons and one of them is the delicious cuisine it offers, which has gained popularity across the country. Gujarat's famous sweet and sour Dhokla is popular as a street food and is known for its taste and health benefits. Dhokla is not only delicious but also a healthy snack, making it a favourite of many. The main ingredient in making dhokla is gram flour, and it is mixed with semolina, spices and other ingredients. Here is an easy recipe to make dhokla at home:

Material:

Gram flour – 1 cup

Semolina – 2 tbsp

Ginger paste – 1 tbsp

Green chilli paste – 1 tbsp

Mustard seeds (rai) – 1 tsp

Turmeric – 1/2 tsp

Powdered sugar – 3 tsp

Eno fruit salt – 1/2 tsp 2 tsp

Citric Acid (Tattery) – 1 tsp

Sugar – 1 tbsp

Curry Leaves – 10-15

Chopped Green Chillies – 3

Baking Soda – 1/2 tsp

Lemon Juice – 1 tsp

Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp

Oil – 1 Tablespoon

Salt – as per taste

Recipe:

Add gram flour to a bowl so that there are no lumps.

Mix semolina, turmeric, ginger paste, chilli paste, asafoetida, powdered sugar, eno fruit salt and a pinch of salt in gram flour.

Mix all the ingredients well and add water while stirring slowly so that there are no lumps.

Using a whisk, beat the batter for 4-5 minutes until it becomes light and fluffy.

Let the batter rest for 15 minutes.

Grease a baking mould with oil and pour the batter into it.

Place the mould on a stand in a pan filled with hot water.

Cover the batter with a lid and cook on a medium flame for 20-25 minutes.

Once done, turn off the flame and let it cool for 10 minutes.

For tempering, heat oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds, chopped green chillies and curry leaves.

After a few seconds, add salt, sugar and 1 cup water. When it starts boiling, add lemon juice to it.

Cut the dhokla into pieces and pour the prepared tadka over it.

Sweet and spicy dhokla is ready to serve.
