Recipe: Make Kadhi Pakora in this way, the taste is such that people will not get tired of praising!
Kadhi Pakora is a popular North Indian dish made with yogurt-based curry and deep-fried gram flour fritters. It is a comforting and delicious dish that is often served with steamed rice or roti. Learn here the easy recipe to make Kadhi Pakoda at home:
Ingredients:
For Kadhi:
1 cup curd
3 tbsp gram flour
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp
mustard seeds
8-10 curry leaves
2 green chilies, sliced
1/2 inch ginger, grated
2 cups water
salt as per taste
For the fritters:
1/2 cup gram flour
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp baking soda
salt as
needed water as needed
oil for deep frying
For tempering:
2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
a pinch of asafoetida
2-3 whole red chilies
Instruction:
In a mixing bowl, beat the curd until smooth. Add gram flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilies, ginger, and salt. Mix well to make a mixture.
Heat a pan on medium heat and pour the curd mixture into it. Add 2 cups of water and mix well.
Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Lower the flame and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, till the curry becomes thick. Keep aside.
In another mixing bowl, mix gram flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin, baking soda, and salt and prepare the batter for pakodas. Add water as required to make a thick batter.
Heat oil for frying in a pan on medium heat. Pour a small spoonful of pakoda batter into hot oil and fry till it becomes golden brown and crispy. Take out a paper towel to remove excess oil.
For the tempering, heat 2 tbsp oil in a small pan. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, asafoetida, and whole red chilies. Let them crackle.
Pour the prepared tempering into the prepared curry and mix well.
Put the fried pakoras in the curry and let it cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
Switch off the flame and let the Kadhi Pakodas rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serve hot Kadhi Pakora with rice or roti. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves if desired.
