Recipe: Sweeten the mouth of your loved ones with Mango Halwa, the taste will be such that you will enjoy it!
Mango halwa, also known as mango kesari or mango sheera, is a popular Indian dessert made with ripe mangoes, semolina, sugar, and ghee, and flavored with cardamom and saffron. Today we have brought this recipe for you.
Ingredients:
Ripe mangoes - 2 large or 3 medium, peeled and made
puree Semolina - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup or as per taste
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Cashews - 8-10, Broken
raisins - 8-10
Cardamom powder - 1 /2 tsp
Saffron threads - some (optional)
Water - 1 1/2 cups
Instructions :
Heat a pan or wok on medium heat and add ghee to it.
Add broken cashews and raisins to the pan and fry till they turn golden brown. Take them out of the pan and keep them aside.
In the same pan, add semolina and dry roast on a low to medium flame till it turns golden brown in color and starts releasing a nutty aroma.
Add water to the pan and mix well so that there are no lumps.
Cook semolina in water on low to medium heat, while stirring continuously, till it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
Add sugar to the pan and mix well till the sugar dissolves completely.
Add mango puree to the pan and mix well. Cook for a few minutes until the mixture thickens and comes together.
Add cardamom powder and saffron threads (if using) and mix well.
Add the roasted cashews and raisins back to the pan and mix well.
Cook for a few more minutes, while stirring continuously, till the mango pudding reaches an even consistency.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the mango halwa cool for a few minutes.
Serve the mango halwa hot or cold, garnished with additional cashews and saffron, if desired.
