Shrikhand Recipe: Shrikhand is rich in Vitamin B12, even children can make it at home, know how?
Shrikhand is a popular Indian dessert made with strained yoghurt, and sugar, and flavoured with saffron and cardamom. Here's a recipe to make shrikhand:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups plain Greek yoghurt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp saffron strands
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp warm milk
- Chopped nuts for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
-
Take a cheesecloth or a muslin cloth and place it over a strainer. Put the Greek yoghurt on the cloth and cover it with another cloth. Keep the strainer over a bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight. This will help to drain the excess water from the yoghurt.
-
In a small bowl, add saffron strands and warm milk. Let it soak for 5 minutes.
-
Take the thick yogurt out of the refrigerator and transfer it to a mixing bowl.
-
Add the powdered sugar, soaked saffron, and cardamom powder to the yogurt. Mix well until everything is well combined.
-
Once mixed, transfer the shrikhand to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped nuts (optional).
-
Refrigerate for an hour before serving.
Your shrikhand is ready to be served!
