Many times you must have seen bank checks which are filled i.e. given for payment or received by you. On these cheques, you might have seen 'Only' or 'Only' written at the end near the money. But have you ever noticed why this bar is written and what is the reason for it? If not then today we are telling you about it.

Why do you write 'only' on the cheque?

The reason behind writing 'only' on the check is to keep your money safe. In fact, when you fill money on a check and write 'only' or 'only' at the end of it, then no one can increase the amount further i.e. cannot add money.

Let us tell you that it is not mandatory to write like this, nor does it mean that if you do not write on the cheque, your check will not be valid. The bank does not force anyone to do this, every customer does this for his own safety.
