Brother wanted to withdraw ₹19,300 from sister
Jitu Munda is a resident of Dianali village. His sister, Kalra Munda, had an account with the Odisha Gramin Bank in Mallipasi, with a deposit of ₹19,300. Kalra had died two months earlier. Her husband and only child had also passed away. Jitu was her only surviving relative.
Bank asked for paper proof
A few days ago, Jeetu went to the bank to withdraw money from his sister's account. The bank manager bluntly told him to either bring the account holder or provide a death certificate and proof of legal heirship. Jeetu had neither the documents nor any knowledge of these procedures. He was forced to return empty-handed.
